Here’s My Story

Holistic Mental Health counsellor

Like many people, I have my own experiences with trauma. Thinking I was doing the best thing, I buried it, I didn’t think that it was affecting me until I found myself in a difficult place unintentionally hurting people that I loved.

Because I was blind to it, not only did I not know it was affecting me, but I didn’t know how to manage it and so developed coping mechanisms that were unhelpful. I was searching for answers outside of myself, it left me feeling isolated, lost, and confused. Back then, I didn’t know that unintegrated trauma affects our thoughts, emotions, and behaviours and brings our body’s survival strategies online at times when we don’t need them.

Trauma and extended periods of high stress can detach us from the delicate and constantly shifting sensations of our body, sensations that typically align with our emotions, as a protective measure. That disconnection keeps us unaware of what we’re truly feeling and needing. Without knowing what’s at the core of our feelings, it’s hard to make healthy boundaries or formulate requests that support us in getting our needs met and maintaining healthy relationships.

My journey started out in the traditions of yoga, tantra, mindfulness, breath-work, and shamanism and I completely immersed myself in my healing. When I felt prepared for the next step in my journey, I chose to pursue a formal education in social work. Armed with a deeper understanding of society, social conditioning, and psychological frameworks, the pieces of my personal puzzle started to fit together more profoundly. This journey allowed me to achieve genuine self-acceptance.

Here's what I can offer: In my experience, well-being is deeply personal and can be nurtured in various ways. I bring a range of skills to the table and approach our work together with collaboration, intuition, creativity, and curiosity.

How We Help You

  • Anxiety & Depression Counselling

At Wild Heart Therapy, we help those struggling with anxiety and depression regain control and find balance through a mix of evidence-based psychological therapies and holistic approaches like somatic therapy, meditation, and mindfulness. Our goal is to empower you with practical skills to manage emotions, release tension, and rediscover a sense of self, joy, and purpose.

  • Healing Sexual Trauma

Sexual trauma can severely impact your health, vitality, and ability to connect with others and feel safe in your own skin. I am here to help you navigate these challenges. Whether your experience of sexual violence happened recently or long ago, you may not yet recognise how it continues to affect your life today. Sexual trauma, in all its forms, involves a deep violation that disrupts your personal, emotional, and energetic boundaries, leaving you feeling disconnected from your body and its natural rhythms.

  • Divorce, Separation & Loss Counselling

At Wild Heart Therapy, we help individuals navigate the emotional challenges of divorce, separation, and loss. Using therapies like ACT, Schema Therapy, and IFS, we focus on healing emotional wounds, rebuilding self-worth, and reconnecting you with your values and identity. Through mindfulness, somatic practices, and meditation, we guide you in rediscovering your authentic self and creating a fulfilling life beyond the pain of separation. Whether you're adjusting to a breakup, co-parenting, or a new routine, we're here to support your journey of healing and self-discovery.

  • Grief & Life Transition Counselling

At Wild Heart Therapy, our Grief and Life Transition Counselling supports you through the emotional challenges of loss, change, and uncertainty. Whether you're dealing with the death of a loved one, a significant life change, or a difficult transition, we provide a safe space to process your feelings and navigate the complexities of your experience. Using evidence-based therapies and holistic practices like mindfulness and somatic techniques, we help you find healing, regain balance, and rediscover your path forward.

  • Individual Counselling

My therapeutic approach is based on principles that avoid pathologising or shaming, with a strong belief in every person’s inherent ability to grow and change. Each session starts by focusing on what matters most to you, and together we develop a customised treatment plan within a compassionate, nonjudgmental, and honest framework. You’ll receive practical tools and practices to support and enhance your progress between sessions.

  • Trauma Processing Techniques

I utilise advanced trauma processing modalities, including Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Deep Brain Re-Orienting (DBR), to help you process and heal from trauma. These evidence-based practices can significantly reduce the distressing emotions and thoughts associated with traumatic experiences.
